Tuesday, May 1, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the Pet Adoption Center for new volunteers. This is your chance to learn about the variety of Volunteer Opportunities available and begin helping HSCI and our pets in a way which fits your interests and schedule. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or accompanied by a parent at training and each and every time for volunteering. Registration fee is $10 for each adult (16 or older) and $5 for each child (younger than 16). The Humane Society of Central Illinois is offering a limited number of vouchers that allow low-income residents to spay their female dog for a reduced fee. Eligible residents must show evidence of government assistance, unemployment, Medicaid, etc.
Vouchers are available for female dogs only: up to 40 pounds for $20, over 40 pounds for $30.
Limit of one voucher per household. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required. If the dog is not current on her rabies vaccination, an additional $32 will be payable directly to the veterinary clinic on the day of service. Additional details and vouchers may be obtained at 423 Kays Drive during regular business hours. Spaying your pet helps to keep the pet population down, reducing the number of unwanted dogs/puppies in the community. The vouchers are subsidized through a monetary grant concentrating on pet overpopulation.
There will be a Pet Vaccination and Microchip Clinic on Sunday, May 6, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at PetCo, at 1700 East College Avenue in Normal.
No appointment needed. (first come - first serve). Services for cats and dogs only.

Cash or check only (no debit/credit cards). All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier. Net proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Central Illinois.

September 1 – 29 we will have a 25% off all black cats and kittens. Every HSCI adoption comes with a great list of "extras." All of our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered; protected with an identification microchip; they've received their initial round of vaccinations; de-wormed, and treated with flea/tick prevention. Each adopter also receives a free bag of food and kitty treats (while supplies last). And did we mention that the helpful volunteers and staff of HSCI are always available to answer your pet-related questions and help you find the perfect match?
