The "Dog Days of Summer" was a great time for everyone this year, especially the dogs! The event took place at the Fairview Family Aquatic Center. All dogs were invited to come take a dip in one of the area's most popular summer swimming holes. Prior to the "doggie dip", chlorine was removed from the pool to make it more comfortable for the pooch's skin. Because of the lack of chlorine, only dogs were allowed to swim. Money collected from this event was donated to the Humane Society of Central Illinois. This event was sponsored by the Normal Parks and Recreation Department.
The day was warm and sunny, perfect for this event! Bernie checks things out a bit. Bernie is an HSCI alumni.
