The Leash on Life event at the Pet Adoption Center was an informational and fun fundraiser to benefit the pets of HSCI. WJBC afternoon host Jim Williams spent the day in one of our dog cages living the life of an HSCI dog! Jim was able to go for walks, eat, see our vet, and more. Jim, along with his co-host and WJBC Pet Feature host, Beth Whisman, broadcast from 2:00 - 6:00 pm at the Pet Adoption Center. A big thank you goes to Jim and Beth for helping the animals at HSCI!
Here is Jim during one of his "outings".
During the day, Jim had many pets join him --- including Milkdud the rabbit, a trio of kittens, and several cats and dogs. Jim was a great sport. HSCI appreciates his willingness to do this event to benefit our pets.
No way to talk yourself out of this now!

Jim and Beth broadcast throughout the afternoon. As part of the day, Jim and Beth interviewed Robin Leach and Dick Durbin in addition to many HSCI staff members.
Throughout the day, Jim felt quite at home in his cage. He did do some non-dog activities like reading the newspaper and making calls on his cell phone.
During the afternoon, many HSCI staff and our veterinarian spoke about topics related to HSCI. In this picture, Stacey is being interviewed about why pets come to HSCI.
Beth enjoys sitting across from Jim in his cage.
Members of WMBD television stopped by for a visit to see Jim, and check out the Kitten Room.
Thank you, everyone who participated and made a contribution to HSCI. The event exceeded our goal and raised $2600.
