On Saturday, May 10, we held our Adopt-a-thon event at our Pet Adoption Center. We have great pets available and we always want everyone to know! Comcast was on hand to film much of the event. Viewers could see our Adopt-a-thon on ICN 5 (local cable channel) fifteen or more times within two weeks! Great exposure for great pets!

A new business, Rover's Pet Bakery, was on-hand to help us celebrate.
Rover's Pet Bakery helped us celebrate by bringing a cake. This cake however is just for the dogs. They offer dog birthday cakes in addition to their many treats.

The Normal Police provided a K9 unit demonstration.
The police dog's name is Rico. He is a full-service police dog working for the Normal Police Department since May 2004.
Rico is a Belgian Malinois originally from the Netherlands. This 100 lb dog's birthday is 10/16/2002, and he is assigned to Officer Greg.

Lhasa Apso Rescue was invited as a breed-rescue group to show off their pets up for adoption to visitors.
Tracy from Operation SAFE helped promote the importance of spay/neuter in controlling the cat population.
