Matt and I are volunteers at the shelter. We love to walk the dogs! When Matt and I first met Max, he was one scared dog. He sat in the back of his cage and didn't want to be walked. I was initially afraid of him, so Matt slowly opened his cage, laid his leash down, and let Max come to him. Matt walked him and they formed a bond. I started spending a little bit of extra time with him, allowing him to get to know me so he wasn't so afraid of humans. I would take him in the backyard and throw his tennis ball, which is what he loves! I told Matt about the quality time I had spent with him, but he was leaning more towards a younger dog that wasn't as timid. BUT, when Matt and I brought him into the viewing room, that was it! We knew from that moment on that this dog had already adopted us!
Now, Max spends his days playing frisbee, catch, or going for walks around the neighborhood with his backpack on. He is a working dog and he LOVES to work for us! When he walks around the neighborhood with his backpack on, he is so proud of himself and he is just in a working zone. Matt and I love him so much and can not imagine what life was like before we brought home Max! Thank you for bringing us the most wonderful dog we could have ever imagined!
