It's been more than a year since I met my buddy Duke. After a month of debating over I could be the home he needed I was finally convinced by my friends and family to adopt him. I now have a faithful shadow that my friends love to tease me for. My mutt loves to greet new people with his tail wagging requesting petting. The petting is soon followed by him leaning on the victim and then they find themselves with a lap full of dog. My mom found herself trying to figure out how to drink coffee around 45lbs of dog.

We are still working on him befriending other dogs, but he as made amazing progress. He has gone from being the enemy of all dogs to allowing my parents 10lb dog to boss him around the house. We can now walk down the street while other dogs are barking and going nuts and continue calmly on our way.

He loves car trips, and has been a wonderful companion for my various adventures through out the year. His sweet nature has won him many a friend. He's not the perfect dog but he is the perfect dog for me.
