Iron Spirit Pro Wrestling at Station Saloon!

We're thrilled to be sponsoring this family-friendly event.

Where: Station Saloon, 1611 Morrisey Dr.
When: Friday, July 30, bell time = 7:00 pm
Who: Featuring Brubaker, CJ Esparza, Big Beef Gnarls Garvin, Dante Leon, the Lowlifes, and more!
Why: FUN for All ages / family friendly
What: Wrestling (of course) but we'll have some sweet custom swag available for purchase, plus our look book of available pets, donation jars and some of our Dog Wrestling Celebrities (ok, some of our awesome adoptable dogs but we're trying to get into the spirit!) We will be on site at 6:00 pm with limited edition swag available for purchase.

A Garage Sale Donation Drop-Off Date will take place on Sunday, August 1 from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. Drop off will be at Uncle Bill's Self Storage, 421 Kays Dr, in Normal (next to the shelter) in unit number I-47 (Building "i" unit 47). Please do not bring items to the shelter.

Donations will be needed, so start saving your "treasures" now!

DogBrunch at The Mystic

DogBrunch at The Mystic!

Join us for a DogBrunch at The Mystic on Saturday, August 7 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm!

This is a dog friendly, outdoor dining and wine tasting event. 50% of proceeds from brunch and wine sales will be donated to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.

Silent Auction items will be available for bidding during brunch.

Spay/Neuter Clinic for Dogs/Puppies ~ This clinic is full!

Spay/Neuter Clinic for Dogs/Puppies

HSCI is having a Spay/Neuter Clinic for Dogs/Puppies on Monday, August 9. The Spay/Neuter Clinic fee is $100 for each Dog or Puppy. Fee includes rabies vaccination. Puppies must be at least eight weeks of age to receive surgery. Puppies under 12 weeks of age will not receive a rabies vaccination. Dogs on medication or showing signs of respiratory infections will not be considered for surgery. Dogs will be transported to and from Animal Protective League (APL) in Springfield for spay / neuter.  Details

It is strongly recommended that all dogs/puppies be up-to-date on their distemper combination vaccinations for protection against canine distemper virus, adenovirus type 1 and 2, canine parainfluenza virus, and canine parvovirus at least two weeks prior to transport.

Appointments are required and space is very limited. To register for this clinic, call our office at (309) 451-1000.

  • Dogs are dropped off between 6:45 - 7:00 am, Monday, August 9 at the Pet Adoption Center, 423 Kays Drive in Normal. Dogs must be in a hard sided carrier with newspapers in the bottom. One dog per carrier.
  • Owners must sign a surgery consent form at the time of check-in.
  • Dogs will be returned to their owners on Tuesday, August 10 between 8:30 - 9:00 am and are to be picked up from the Pet Adoption Center.

This is your chance to learn about the variety of Volunteer Opportunities available and begin helping HSCI and our pets in a way which fits your interests and schedule. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to work independently. Volunteers ages 8 to 17 must be accompanied by either a parent or guardian 25 years or older who is also a volunteer and must perform the same tasks. Children under the age of 8 cannot volunteer at the shelter, but can help the animals in other ways by collecting much needed supplies to donate.

Registration fee is $15 for each adult (18 or older) and $5 for each child (ages 8 - 17).  More

Fleet Feet Sports is hosting the 2021 Dawson Lake Dash 5K on Sunday, August 29 at 8:00 am at the Moraine View State Park in LeRoy. The Humane Society of Central Illinois is a beneficiary of the event!  We hope to see you there!

November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month!  There are many good reasons to adopt a senior pet. Take a Second Look: Consider Adopting an Adult Cat or Dog.

National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week

Please remember our hard-working staff and volunteers during this designated week, November 7 - 13. Our Pet Adoption Center would not be possible without the dedication of many.

Show your support this week with a note, a token of appreciation, or a donation to help support the pets.

Another easy way to support us is by raving about our work and our animals to friends, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else. We need your support.
